Scope and Content
Cronin, Hannah, and Company Cashbook, 1861-1870, records on an almost daily basis cash received and cash paid out. It includes the names of individuals the business received cash from and paid cash to.
Cronin, Hannah and Company Journal, 1861-1874, records on a monthly basis, mainly in 1861, the individual accounts of customers. Each account lists transactions in chronological order, items purchased, and amount owed or paid. Merchandise sold include dry-goods (thread, calico, needles, buttons), molasses, pants, castor oil, and whiskey. Volume is in fragile condition due to water and mold damage. Ink is very faint.
Cronin and Company Ledgers A-1 and B, 1865-1868, records the accounts of individual customers. Each account lists transactions in chronological order, items purchased, and the amount owed and paid. Merchandise sold include whiskey, dry-goods, eggs, nails, fish hooks, and farm tools.
Cronin and Company Index book to a missing ledger that records in alphabetical order the names of the company's customers. Beside each name is the page number of the customer's account found in the ledger. Volume is in fragile condition due to mold damage.
