The General Courts of Virginia are part of the Judicial Branch of the Commonwealth's government.
Scope and Content
Issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia to the sheriff of Norfolk County. Orders the sheriff to bring Henry Halstead before the justices at the next General Court in Williamsburg to satisfy Simon Halstead, to whom Henry owes 87 pounds of tobacco and 30 shillings current money. Judgement is for N5 currency or 1,000 pounds of tobacco, with 351 pounds of tobacco in damages. Witnessed by Joseph Jones, a justice of the Court, and signed by John May.
