Lieutenant in the 1st New York Dragoons during the Civil War. Three letters written between January and July, 1864, to Sarah L. (Lyra) Stillson of Corning, New York, from Dansville, New York, and camps in Washington, D.C. Writes about his visit home and his company's reconnaissance to the Rapidan River.
