Historical Note
During World War II, the Roanoke Committee for Clothes Collection for Our Allies set up sites in Roanoke County and the City of Roanoke to collect donations of clothes and shoes. Participants could leave donations at local schools, churches and the YMCA or YWCA.
Scope and Content
The collection includes a flyer (c.1945) advertising the collection of clothes and shoes for World War II efforts. The flyer includes information about program sponsors (Roanoke Committee for Clothes Collection for Our Allies), as well as drop off locations and collection periods for the county and city of Roanoke.
The flyer is missing two corners from previously sustained damage.
