Rufus Sarvey operated a grocery store in Blacksburg, Virginia from the mid-to-late
nineteenth-century. In 1879, Sarvey entered into a partnership with Thomas A.
Conrad. Four years later, Sarvey sold his stock of merchandise to Charles Lyle.
Collection consists of account books, a partnership agreement, and an agreement of
sale involving a grocery store operated by Rufus Sarvey between 1845 and 1883.
