Scope and Content Information

Papers of K. Edward Lay consist of documentation of buildings and houses in Charlottesville and Albemarle County, Virginia, many of which are included in his book The architecture of Jefferson country and includes photographs, slides, measured drawings, copies of historical documents and correspondence.

The collection also contains historical information on Jefferson's master builders at the University of Virginia, the history of the University of Virginia School of Architecture, and architects who worked in Charlottesville and Albemarle County, Virginia.
