Acquisition Information

These items were given to the Library by Louis Halle, of Geneva, Switzerland, through Kenneth W. Thompson of the Miller Center, University of Virginia, on January 7, 1988.

Scope and Content

This addition to the papers of Louis Halle consists of ten items, 1952-1987, and contains articles by Halle and correspondence. The articles include: "Lessons of the Cuban Blunder," "The Conceptual Roots of War and Genocide," "Why Is There No Voltaire ?," "The Nominal and the Real," and "The Problem of Formulating American Foreign Policy," an article drafted by Halle while a student at the National War College accompanied by related correspondence. Also present is a collection of quotations used as a text in a lecture course entitled "History and International Relations."
