One artifact, consisting of a wooden walking stick owned by John J. Davis (1835-1916) gifted to him by his son John W. Davis (1873-1955). The top of the stick is capped with metal with the inscription "John J. Davis from J.W.D." John James Davis was an attorney and politician who helped found West Virginia and later served as a United States Representative in Congress from that state.
