Abstract
Commemorative coin for the sesquicentennial of West Virginia statehood, which was commissioned by the Wheeling National Heritage
Area Corporation (WNHAC). The coin is gold in color. One face shows Francis H. Pierpont, the (West) Virginia politician who
served as governor of the Restored State of Virginia and is considered the "father of West Virginia"; the other face shows
Independence Hall in Wheeling, West Virginia.
