Biographical / Historical

After obtaining a bachelor of arts degree at the College of William and Mary, John S. Carbone earned higher degrees at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, the King College School of Business and Economics, and North Carolina Central University School of Law. Carbone's research on early coastal operations in North Carolina was later incorporated into his book, The Civil War in Coastal North Carolina (Raleigh, NC: Division of Archives and History, North Carolina Dept. of Cultural Resources, 2001). He is also the author of A Lawyer's Guide to Understanding Psychiatry .

Scope and Contents

This collection consists of a manuscript thesis (photocopy only) of a senior honors thesis entitled "Early Coastal Operations in North Carolina During the Civil War: a Study of Lost Opportunities," completed by John S. Carbone, a student at the College of William and Mary, in 1984.
