Historical Notes

The Blacksburg Study Group was funded by the Blacksburg Town Council under the aegis of the Townscape Committee to study the town's architecture and landscape, to inform town officials about present conditions, and to make recommendations for changes. Results were accumulated for a book,  Blacksburg - Understanding a Virginia Town: Town Architecture  (1986) by Donna Dunay.

The Blacksburg Study Group Records document the work of the group in studying the town's architecture and landscaping and in making recommended changes. Materials include architectural drawings, maps, diagrams, and photographs used in the book, Blacksburg - Understanding a Virginia Town: Town Architecture  (1986) by Donna Dunay.
