Biographical / Historical

Martha Ann Spencer, born in Lynchburg, Va., March 26, 1938, and resident of Lexington, Va., went to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 13, 2013. Martha grew up at East Lexington, Virginia. A graduate of Wheaton College, she joined the Peace Corps, serving in the Philippines in the early 1960's. Martha was a school teacher in California for 35 years and impacted many students' lives. She was a charter member of Grace Presbyterian Church and was involved with the Rockbridge Historical Society and the Genealogical Society. She enjoyed doing genealogical research for people throughout the United States. Martha was also a generous contributor to many community services. She received the Good Citizenship award from the Daughters of the American Revolution.
