This collection comprises a letter from James E. Wray of the Confederate Army to his unnamed sister. Writing from Winchester, Virginia, Wray describes his progress in recovery from an unstated aliment and his desire to return to fighting duty once deemed fit. He also discusses rumors of his regiment being sent to Tennessee or Kentucky and reports of Union soldiers within 25 miles of Winchester.
