Biographical Information
Dr. Glenn Smith is Professor Emeritus in George Mason University's Dewberry School of Music, where he began teaching in 1976. Smith attended California State College, Hayward, and Indiana University. He has written many choral and instrumental compositions over the years, including "Equally Free-The Pageant of George Mason" for the University's 10th anniversary celebration.
Scope and Content
This collection includes sheet music, audio cassettes, and concert materials from George Mason University music professor Glenn Smith from the years 1967-1996. Folder one includes handouts and a program for a concert of Smith's music that was performed in April 1996. Folder two contains the 1981 score for "Equally Free - The Pageant of George Mason." Folders three, four, and five contain the sheet music for compositions by Smith dating from 1967-1970, as well as a piece that was written in 1965 and revised in 1991. Folder six contains six audio cassettes dating from 1986-1991; four of the cassettes are recordings of music by Smith, and the other two cassettes are labelled "Merrily II" and "Bob Alexander - 1st draft."
