Historical Information
Louisa County was named for Louisa, a daughter of George II. It was formed from Hanover County in 1742. Its area is 514 square miles, and the county seat is Louisa.
Scope and Content
Louisa County (Va.) Organization Records, 1859-1899, consists of Grand Chapter of the Royal Arch Masons of Virginia, Dove Chapter No. 44, Treasurer's book (1855-1875), Masonic Lodge Records (1859-1905), and other Organization Records (1885-1899).
