Historical Information

Goochland County was named for Sir William Gooch, lieutenant governor of Virginia from 1727 to 1749. It was formed from Henrico County in 1728.

Fleming, 1827 Aug. 11; between William Barnett and Mary Vaughan, 1802 Dec. 3; between Thomas Pleasants and Mary Henry Pleasants, 1795 Mar. 10; and between William Royster and Prudence his wife and Samuel Parsons 1785 Mar. 21.
