Gift of Gordon Brooks, Glen Allen, Virginia.
Scope and Content
Original and copies of plats and surveys of James T. Redd & Son and T. Crawford Redd & Bros. of Richmond, Virginia, of lands located mostly in Richmond and Henrico County, Virginia, but also Albemarle, Amelia, Buckingham, Charles City, Chesterfield, Essex, Goochland, and Hanover Counties, and the City of Fredericksburg. Also included are miscellaneous deeds and field books.
The plats and surveys are organized by "section" number. This number is determined by using a map of Henrico County, Richmond City, and parts of Chesterfield County, Virginia, which is included with the collection. This map is divided into sections. The user must know in which section the particular piece of property is located in order to find the plat or survey in which they are interested.
