The Robert Alonzo Brock Collection was filmed by The Huntington Library in cooperation with The Library of Virginia with funding provided by The Library of Virginia Foundation with the support of The Roller- Bottimore Foundation and The Robins Foundation. Microfilm received 15 April 2004.

Historical Information

Ohio County was created in 1776. It was named for the Ohio River. Ohio County was one of the fifty western Virginia counties to form the state of West Virginia in 1863.

Scope and Content

Loyalty oath, 1861, signed by Reuben Finnell to support the pro-Union government in Wheeling, Virginia.
