Historical and Biographical Information
Glenn Moore was born on November 24, 1913, to William N. and Ethel Moore in Milton, West Virginia and raised in Strafford, Missouri. He moved to the Washington, D.C. area in 1934, first working for the Department of Agriculture, and later the U.S. Navy. In 1940, Glenn Moore married Bethel Triplett. Moore enlisted in the U.S. Army on May 8, 1943, and served in the South Pacific until discharged in 1946. The Moores moved to Fairfax, Virginia in 1950, and had one daughter, Karen, born in 1953. Moore retired in 1969 as chief medical records administrator at the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery. As a hobby, Glenn Moore operated an amateur radio station and sent emergency messages for the Red Cross. He was a member of the Northern Virginia FM Association. Moore died on December 16, 1998, at his home in Fairfax, Virginia.
