Scope and Content
Concerns the Williamsburg Convention and mentions the election of Patrick Henry as Governor and the appointment of a Privy Council. Dunmore is still on Gwynns Island. A vessel was sent to Martinico {sic} {Martinique} with the news of the Declaration of Independence, and reports that the French are pleased. Ha s been busy with business transactions, including dealings with John Backhouse of Liverpool, Benjamin Fawcett, James Hunter, Joseph Jones, Edward McGuire, James Madison, Henry Mitchell, William Moore, John Pemberton, and Martin Pickett. Gives orders to begin manufacturing cannon balls.
