Scope and Contents
Diary, 1937-1941 of Lloyd Hartman (1913-1987) of Spokane, Washington. Entries are fairly regular for the years 1937-1940 and record daily activities, weather and health. The writes mentions social outings, like visits to movies, his work at a bank and occasionally comments on the world-political situation. The following description was provided by the seller:"The diary was started in 1937 when he was in his early 20's. Each page has entries for five years but most are filled out for 1937-1940 only. Most of October's pages are blank. The writer tells of his daily life, schooling, jobs, CCC work, his girlfriend, weather, football scores, travels around the area in Washington and Idaho, movies, restaurants and the start of WW II. A few entries are in shorthand as he was a business student."Also includes a photograph of an unidentified woman.
