Biographical Information

Lucy Gordon Howe, born 24 February 1879, married Robert Moses Copenhaver 28 June 1905. Copenhaver, the son of Andrew Jackson Copenhaver and Eliza Jane Barns, was born 5 July 1873. The couple lived on their farm in Dublin, Pulaski County, Virginia, where they raised seven children: Eliza Katherine Copenhaver (married Walter Beverly Gordon); Sallie Virginia Copenhaver (married Horace Arrington SouthworthO); Lucy Haven Copenhaver (married Dr. Benjamin Franklin Gunter); Robert Jackson Copenhaver (married Jean Wygal); Rufus Pierce Copenhaver (married Mary Elizabeth Mustard); Mary Howe Copenhaver (married Francis Nelson McGavock); and Charles Cushing Copenhaver (married Elva Styron).

Scope and Content

The scrapbook contains 70 pages with newspaper clippings on the history of Pulaski County, Newbern, Dublin, and the Gordon family and Copenhaver family. Photocopies of many pages have been placed in the appropriate vertical files for Pulaski County, Newbern, Farrow Family, Howe Family, and Copenhaver Family.
