Henrietta Huffard, the daugher of James Henry Huffard (1859-1952) and Caroline Weaver Huffard (1860/1866-1950), was born 30 January 1903. Her family included her sisters Lelia Huffard, Erlmah Huffard Parker (married Stafford Parker), and Nannie Caroline Huffard Furrow (married George C. Furlow).
Raised in Rural Retreat, she attended Rural Retreat High School where she served as vice-president of her senior class, participated in girls' athletics and drama. She graduated in 1921 and married James M. Moore of Roanoke, Virginia. She died on 30 January 1954 in Roanoke and is buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Rural Retreat, Virginia. She had no children.
Henrietta Huffard kept this scrapbook, a printed memory book published by Reilly & Lee Company, during her senior year at Rural Retreat High School in 1920 and 1921. She recorded information on students, teachers, academics, sports, clubs, and other activities. The scrapbook also contains photographs, newspaper clippings, programs, and graduation visiting cards. An annotated table of contents prepared by the Archivist is included.
