Biographical/Historical Note

Architect, author, and professor Cristina Grau García was born in Valencia, Spain, on July 24, 1946. She graduated with a degree in architecture in 1972 and a doctorate in 1984 from the Escuela Technica Superior de Architectura in Valencia, Spain. Her thesis, "El espacio arquitectónico en la literatura: el laberinto borgiano y otros laberintus" focused on architectural themes in literature. Her 1989 book “Borges y la arquitectura”, on design themes in the work of Jorge Luis Borges, further explored this topic.

Among her many accomplishments, Grau García was a professor at the Valencia Polytechnic University where she taught courses in philology and architecture. Cristina Grau García collaborated with her brother, architect Camilo Grau García, on several architectural restoration projects and design competitions. Her projects and articles have been featured in several Spanish design magazines, including “On Diseño”, “Arquitectura”, "CIMAL", "El Croquis", and "Sala Parpallo." She is fluent in several languages, including Spanish, Catalan, French, English, German and Italian.
