Scope and Content

Letter from a Confederate surgeon, writing from the General Hospital in Petersburg, Virginia, to my esteemed friend. Feild writes on January 5, 1865, about the suffering in the land and the cries of the wounded. Additional letters from Feild may be found in the Henry C. Somerville Letters (Ms91-045).
