Historical Note
The Harkrader Produce Company was established by Robert R. and Paul D. Hardrader at 106 North Franklin Street in Christiansburg, Virginia in the 1920s. The business seems to have been a wholesaler, emphasizing on seed, but also sold feed, fertilizer, poultry and other agricultural products. Harkrader Produce Company closed in 1973.
Scope and Content Note
This collection consists of three daybooks from the Harkrader Produce Company, a Christiansburg, Virginia wholesaler of feed, seed and other agricultural products. Each volume contains entries detailing transaction dates, names of purchasers, goods purchased, and prices.
