The Lorraine Rudoff Architectural Collection was donated to Special Collections in 1990.


Biographical Information

Lorraine Rudoff was born in Bridgeport, CT in 1920 and began her education in New York City public schools before attending the Cooper Union School of Architecture. Initially, she attended an unknown school to study fashion design before attending Cooper Union, but discovered that the fashion industry wasn't favorable to women at the time and the pay was low. She was always interested in arts and crafts and volunteered at the Craft and Folk Art Museum. She was a member of both the Association for Women in Architecture (AWA) and The International Union of Women Architects (UIFA).


Scope and Content

The collection contains: 1 roll of Architectural drawings totaling 33 sheets and dated 1976 of Vons Grocery Co. Meat Service Center in El Monte, CA; 1 roll of floor plans, elevations, color and furnishing schedule, etc. dated 1975 of the Economics Laboratory Inc. in Tucson, Az; 3 folders of scrapbook memorabilia containing photographs, architectural drawings, clippings, and certificates of achievements; and 1 envelope containing three conference pins (UIFA, AWA).
