Henry Miller Letter to Unidentified Recipient, Accession # 7022-l, Special Collections Dept., University of Virginia Library, Charlottesville, Va.
This item was purchased on 11 March 1997.
In this letter from Henry Miller, Big Sur, California, to "Dear Friend," Miller composed this letter to advertise available copies of his book Plexus, "I have just learned that there are still a few hundred copies on hand, in Paris, of the English language edition of Plexus which was published last summer by the Olympia Press, 13 rue Jacob, Paris (6). The edition is limited to 2000 copies, numbered, in two paper covered volumes, good print, totaling 684 pages -- complete and unabridged." Miller then goes on to warn potential customers that this second volume of The Rosy Crucifixion trilogy might soon be banned by the French authorities. He then provides instructions for ordering the volume.
