The papers contain six letters from Kirkland chiefly re articles and stories she submitted, including "The Bee Tree" for publication in The Gift ; subjects desired and payment offered by Graham's Magazine ; a love story she plans to submit; and her work with The Union Magazine ; a letter to E. A. Duyckinck asking him to look up some autographs for her brother. There are also two copies of an engraving of Kirkland.
Discusses submission of "The Bee Tree" to Care and Hart for publication in The Gift magazine; also requests an opinion on, and willingness to publish, an abridgment of Dymond's Essays on Morality , which she has prepared, w/ 1 typed copy.
Sends an article for possible publication in Graham's magazine and asks about subjects desired and payment.
Sends a story for publication and mentions a love story she will send; thanks Rev. Griswold for his long letter and hopes he will continue sending long letters which are much appreciation by Carolina Matilda Kirkland and Mr. Kirkland; requests payment of money owed
Comments on new "requisition" and her work with Union Magazine; mentions "Dilly"
Asks him to look up some autographs for her brother.
