Scope and Content Information

The papers contain six letters from Kirkland chiefly re articles and stories she submitted, including "The Bee Tree" for publication in The Gift ; subjects desired and payment offered by Graham's Magazine ; a love story she plans to submit; and her work with The Union Magazine ; a letter to E. A. Duyckinck asking him to look up some autographs for her brother. There are also two copies of an engraving of Kirkland.
