This manuscript was purchased by the Library from Alfredo Breitfeld of Buenos Aires, Argentina, on June 19, 1996.

This is a nine-page autograph manuscript, "Viejo Hábito Argentino," written in 1946 and revised in 1950 and 1955, by Jorge Luis Borges. There are six sketches by Borges included in the manuscript, two as part of his signature. There is a detailed one half-page sketch of "dio Hydra der Diktator." This manuscript was subsequently published as Nuestro Pobre Individualismo.
