Scope and Content Information
This collection of 100 items, 1972(1988-1993), relates to the Libertarian Party, including the presidential campaign of Roger Lea MacBride during 1975 and 1976. Papers from 1972-1976 contain various circular letters and campaign materials; Taxation and Tyranny (a guide to the tax rebellion) prepared by Tax Rebels of America; The Presidential Convention Newsletter , August 1975; Libertarian Letter: Newsletter of Wisconsin Libertarian Party (December 1975, March-June 1976) concerning MacBride's campaign; The Libertarian Challenge: A New Direction for America , a pamphlet, 1975, by Roger Lea MacBride to preview his book of the same title; and, Libertarian Party National Convention brochure, 1976, with biographies and schedule. Papers from 1988-1993 contain various circular letters, reports to the membership, materials on campaigns and ballot access, program for the Libertarian Party's 1989 National Convention, material for Florida (1989) and Alaska (1990) Libertarian Party conventions, and an article "Behind the Electoral Disaster" ( Liberty, February 1993) by Chester Alan Arthur. There are also 39 issues of the Libertarian Party News, 1989-1992; and 24 newsletters for various states, including Alaska (1990), Florida (1989-1991), Oklahoma (1989), as well as copies of Freedom Network News (November 1990), The Libertarian Reporter for Canada (February 1990). The Libertarian Republican (1989-1990), and Republican Liberty (1990-1992).
