Charles M. Schultz gave the cartoon to the University of Virginia Library on February 13, 1998.

Scope and Content Information

This addition to the Joseph M. Bruccoli Great War Collection consists of an original pen-and-ink drawing, 1996, by Charles M. Schulz for his Peanuts comic strip, depicting Snoopy as the "World War I Flying Ace," and his brother Spike as an infantryman. The cartoon is inscribed "To the Joseph M. Bruccoli Great War Collection - Charles M. Schulz."
