These items were given to the Library by Matthew Bruccoli, Columbia, South Carolina, on May 7, 1992.

Scope and Content Information

This addition to the Bruccoli Great War Collection consists of three items, 1917-1919, including one medal, one inch in diameter, inscribed with "LEST WE FORGET APR. 6, 1917 - NOV. 11, 1918" and on the verso, "THE PRICE 268,204 CASUALITIES"; and two lapel pins both produced by the Whitemead & Hoag Company, Newark, New Jersey, one with a white background and the inscription, "W.S.S. PLEDGED FOR 1918," and the other with a flag shield and money chest emblem and inscribed, "YORK WAR CHEST I HAVE CONTRIBUTED, HAVE YOU?"
