There are thirteen photographs, 1917-1918, of General John Joseph "Black Jack" Pershing (1860-1948), and others in France. He is pictured with Marshal Joseph-Jacques-Cesaire Joffre (1852-1931), Auguste-Yvon- Edmond Dubail (1851-1934), and General Peltier (a one-armed veteran who became liaison officer at Pershing's headquarters). Scenes include Pershing's arrival at Boulogne-sur-Mer on June 13, 1917; the War School in Paris; the American Battalion marching down Rue de Rivoli in Paris; various views of the Nieuport (airplane); an aviation camp; and the Clermont Airport.
