Letters from Andrew Glaze and Vasko Popa to Peter Hoy, 1968-1969, Accession # 10870-a, Special Collections Dept., University of Virginia Library, Charlottesville, Va.
Both items were given to the Library by Peter Hoy, Merton College, Oxford, on September 25, 1989.
This collection consists of two letters to Peter Hoy, French Tutor and Fellow Librarian at Merton College, Oxford, England, from Andrew Glaze and Vasko Popa.
Andrew Glaze, an American poet, expresses delight that Tony [Anthony Rudolf] (1942- ) the English poet and owner of the Menard Press, London, sent Hoy some of Glaze's poems and that Hoy would like to use them, June 27, 1968. He also discusses his technique of using the first person pronoun in his poetry.
Vasko Popa, the Yugoslavian poet, sends a postcard written in French thanking Hoy for a book, August 11, 1969.
