Scope and Content Information
Writing to J.R. Osgood & Company, William Cullen Bryant, The Evening Post, New York requests their permission to allow an unnamed literary weekly to publish an extract from the unpublished volume of his translation of The Odyssey. He had previously allowed Scribner's Magazineto print a similar passage with the preliminary notice that it was from the second volume soon to be published by J.R. Osgood & Company, without compensation.
