[Gives him information regarding his publishing business; mentions his campaign for governor of California ; prefers publishing his own books, even if it means taking a financial loss; lists books he published.]
[Discusses publication in England and Russia of Harte's biography of Sinclair; recommends English publisher, T. Werner Laurie ; advises him to delete passages referring to [Joseph] Stalin if he wants the book to be successful in Russia . ]
[Says that he read half the proofs of the biography and made necessary corrections, especially concerning second divorce.]
[Provides critical response to proofs of his biography; corrects many statements and makes suggestions.]
