Scope and Content
This collection contains garments from the earliest years of Radford College, including clothing associated with the Pocahontas student literary society such as reproductions of Native American moccasins and costume/dress. and a dress worn by M'Ledge Moffett at the first commencement in 1913. It also includes a Highland Band uniform and RU athletics memorabilia from the 1970s such as rage cups, lacrosse pins, fleece blanket and RU Sweatshirt.
In Box 2 are housed items possibly belonging to Clara Carner such as the Pocahontas society materials from above and a pair of white slippers/shoes, pair of socks and pair of white leather gloves. Other items in the collection include, but are not limited to items from the Home Economics department such as a shower cap, uniform skirt and uniform bag all belonging to Eric Shelborne, circa 1918.
