The processing, arrangement and description of the Snezha Daskalova Architectural Collection commenced in June 2010 and was completed in June 2010.
Snezha Daskalova (also Snezha Daskalova-Milkovska) was born in 1925 in Varna, Bulgaria. After graduating from high school she moved to the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, to study architecture at the Sofia Polytechnic, graduating in 1950. She began her architectural practice at the Sofia Design Organization "Sofproekt" where she worked often in partnership with architect Olga Staneva. In 1956 Daskalova married a medical doctor, Nedelcho Milkovska, and had two daughters, Marina (1967-1994) and Silva. She continued to work until her mandatory retirement at the age of 60 in 1985. A few years later private practice was allowed and Daskalova opened her private office in Sofia (1989), designing mainly private houses around the country.
The Snezha Daskalova Architectural Collection contains 8 sets of project drawings for 4 residential projects by Daskalova, all in Bulgaria. Also, one set of student drawings is by her daughter, Marine Milkovska. There are a total of 50 hand-drawn black ink on translucent paper architectural drawings up to 28"x37". The collection also contains four pages of handwritten biographical information by Snezha Daskalova-Milkovska (in Bulgarian) and a one-paragraph biographical sketch by Milka Bliznakov (in English).
The collection is arranged chronologically by project.
