Abstract
Document recording taxes collected in Monongalia County, West Virginia as "bounty money", beginning 1 February 1864. The document
records the names of collectors, the townships they worked in, and the amount collected. The reverse of the document also
records money borrowed from banks and interest owed. "Bounty money" was a payment in cash given to soldiers after they volunteered
for military service.
