Biographical Note
S.M. Greer (1851-1922) was a resident of Grant, Grayson County, Virginia and ran a livestock business called S.M. Greer and Son. He was married to Cynthia Matilda Parks Greer (1856-1939) and their children include Charles, Flossie, Mayme, Jettie, and William. His son, Charles P. Greer, sometimes listed as "Chas P. Greer" in the ledgers, was also a resident of Grayson County, Virginia and later Roanoke, Virginia. He was married to Sue Emma Weatherly Greer and their children include Mary, Charles, Edith, and Mildred. He is also implied to have ran a buisness.

Scope and Content
The Greer Family Buisness Ledgers is a collection of ledgers from 1890-1952. The ledgers detail both personal expenses, their various buisnesses and expenses, and purchases from customers. The ledgers also include correspondence, reciepts, and newspaper clippings within the pages. The Greer businesses included livestick and lumber.
