The Industrial Education Association for Southern Mountaineers was a charitable organization devoted to improving conditions for families and individuals. Materials in the collection do not clearly indicate the geographic locations covered by the "southern mountains." In addition to collecting money for scholarships, the organization also solicited donations of supplies for mountain people.
The collection includes two pieces of correspondence by Caroline T. Burkham (President) and two pamphlets produced by the Industrial Education Association of Southern Mountaineers. The pamphlets describe conditions in which mountain people were living, as well as the activities of the group on behalf of the mountaineers.
Materials in this collection are in chronological order. Undated items are at the end.
