The processing, arrangement, and description of the Henry J. Walters Letter commenced and was completed in February 2010.
Henry J. Walters was born September 7, 1812 in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. From 1844-1854, Walters was a publisher and editor of the Lewistown Republican which became the Republican and later the True Democrat . In 1871, Walters became the editor of the Democratic Sentinel . Walters practiced law and was elected several terms as clerk to the county commissioner's office and was also justice of the peace.
Walters was married to Henrietta M. P. Horner in 1843 and had three children: W. Edwin, Charles W., and Elizabeth L.
