The processing, arrangement, and description of the Arthur Sibold Collection was completed in 1983. Additional description was completed in April 2011.
Arthur Pleasant Sibold was from Pearisburg, Virginia. He attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute (VPI) between 1909 and 1914, where he rosed in the ranks becoming captain of Company D his senior year. Sibold studied agriculture during his time at VPI. In addition, his senior year he was Vice-President of Planters Club, treasurer of Y.M.C.A., on the football team, Associate Editor of Tech, Associate Editor of Firing Line, Censor of Lee Literary Society, member of Tennis Club, and member of Cotillion Club.
The Arthur Sibold Collection includes VPI reunion materials from the Class of 1914, as well as several items of memorabilia and university history. There is a VPI statistical data book, four postcards to Arthur Sibold, a 1914 class roster, a reunion news bulletin, and a letter directed to the alumni.
