Biographical / Historical

On October 16, 1970, students at the University of Virginia founded the Virginia Law Chapter of the Black Law Students Association. The Chapter's initial and continuing goals are to recruit Black law students and faculty, open a candid forum between UVA Law's Black and non-Black students, assist underserved populations in the Charlottesville community, and facilitate inter-school communication between other BLSA chapters.

The administrative records, scrapbooks, websites, newsletters, and artifacts in this collection document the history of the Virginia Law Chapter of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA).
