Description
"This glacier-shaped book unfolds into the form of a snow-covered mountain receding into the distance. It uses a combination of wire-edge binding and handmade brass hinges. The project uses glacial flow and glacial recession as metaphors for understanding personal change and for coming to terms with the internal transformations, metamorphoses, repetitions, and losses in our lives. It presents ideas of geology and the self [as] intertwinted, mirrored, and inextricably linked, suggesting that by knowing the land we inhabit, we can better come to know ourselves"--Artist's statement.
