Accession 42988 was transferred by Borkey, Alexina, M., Dept. of Professional and Occupational Regulation, 11/27/2006
The Virginia Fair Housing Board was established in 2003 and given the authority to "administer and enforce state and federal fair housing laws". The Fair Housing Board seeks to ensure that discrimination does not occur in the following areas, race or color, national origin, sex, age, disability or family status in regard to selling or renting property. Statutes Title 36, Chapter 5.1 gives the entire Fair Housing Regulation law. The Fair Housing Board also offers an educational certificate program to assist individuals that sell or rent property in abiding by the fair housing code regulations.
This series consists of the official minutes, agendas, and related attachments of the Virginia Fair Housing Board. May also include minutes of informal fact finding conferences and conflict of interest letters.
These records are part of the Virginia Dept. of Professional and Occupation Regulation record group (RG 17)
