The Auctioneers Board was established in 1983. A five-member board establishes regulations for obtaining and retaining certification, examines auctioneers for certification, and provides licensure/certification to the approximately 1,500 auctioneers and firms in Virginia. The Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation provides administrative support to the board.
