Scope and Content
Amelia County (Va.) Public Buildings and Grounds, 1853. These records consists of an elevation, floor plan, and specifications for a jail building. The watercolored plan depicts a two-story brick structure with central entryway topped by a fanlight. The specifications detail room size and materials. Also included are two jail reports from the commissioners appointed to oversee construction.
