Bath County was formed in 1790 from Augusta, Botetourt, and Greenbrier (West Virginia) Counties.
Bath County (Va.) Bill of Emancipation, 1798. Consists of a bill emancipating Lewis, formerly a slave, from George Massingbird. Lewis is described as a mulattoe man about twenty years old.
